FAQ

What is ice dyeing?

Ice dyeing is a technique in tie dye. The dye is used in its powdered form. Ice cubes are placed either on top of or under the dye., as the ice melts, it mixes with the dye powder and flows through and into the fabric.

This creates a water colour, marbled effect. It's a much softer result than the more used liquid tie dye technique.

Ice dyeing creates a unique look that can rarely be replicated. That's what makes it so special.

Will my product look exactly the same as in the photo?

I cannot replicate anything exactly. Your item will be very similar, but unique in its own right.

I do my best to replicate colours and designs where asked, however I have no control over how the ice melts and where the dye runs. This is what makes my items unique and individual works of art.

No returns will be given in these circumstances.

How many colours do you have?

Product care

Wash all items in cold water with similar colours. All of my work is colourfast and will wear out before it washes out or fades.

How long will my order take?

Processing time is usually 4 weeks; however, I do everything in my power to get it to you sooner!

What type of Dye do you use?

I use environmentally friendly, professional quality Procion Fibre Reactive Dyes. This is the dye you've seen on tie-dyes on the street, at markets, festivals and concerts – the colours are brilliant and permanent. They don't fade, even after repeated washings. They don't wear off, therefore are safe on infant clothing and clothing for chemically sensitive people.

Will my items fade, bleed or run?

No. I use professional quality Procion Fibre Reactive Dyes. I have a very strict washing out process that I follow which means by the time you receive your items, they are completely colourfast and will not bleed, run or fade.
